Now 2020 Is Bringing Us Winter Weather During Summer
This year has brought many challenges. Getting through 2020 has brought us many firsts. Of course we started the spring off with the virus. We lost our sports. We have lost jobs. Our celebrations got cancelled or postponed.
We have learned to wear masks. We know how to Social distance. We have finally learned how to wash our hands.
It seems every month we think what can be next? This is not the year to think that because it seems we always seem to learn what’s next.
Sometimes it’s tough to even remember what month is this really. Then we look at see that it’s September. We are still officially in summer until the 22nd.
We sure won’t think it is summer coming up later today and into tomorrow. Seriously winter will be here. We may even see snow. Snow in summer. It could really be somewhat possible.
Yesterday we almost hit one hundred. Today we won’t make it out of the sixties for a high. Then overnight tonight we are going to drop to a low in the thirties with some precipitation. That is where we may see some snow in summer.
This year keeps getting weirder. Make sure you dress warm for Wednesday because we won’t make it out of the forties.
So here we are getting a sneak peak of what are winter may be like and I for one am not ready. From the US National Weather Service Amarillo Texas Facebook page:
Monday, September 7th @ 6 AM: Here's the latest on Tuesday's interesting weather. We remain on track for a cold front to arrive Tuesday along with strong winds. Tuesday night will bring widespread precipitation. The good news? Latest model trends suggest temperatures will be just a bit warmer, although still in record low territory, Tuesday night. If this pans out, fewer of us will drop to or below freezing and fewer of us will have to deal with some sleet and/or snow falling overnight. The bad news? Same trend that gets us a bit warmer Tuesday night leads to cool temperatures, overcast skies, and rain chances extended through Thursday night.
