Randall County Sheriff’s Office Offering Humor Before the Fourth

We have some celebrations in our future. We may be parading. We may have thoughts of all the great meats we will be grilling up soon. We definitely are looking forward to another day off. Oh, and the fireworks. A lot of fireworks.

Whatever your plans are for the 4th of July, we hope you are safe. Of course, you know that fireworks are not supposed to be set off in the city limits. You sure don't want to end the day with a pretty costly fine.

With all the celebrations there are people that are responsible and some that are not. That is why Randall County Sheriff's Office is trying to get ahead of the game. They are letting people know what is and what is not an actual emergency when it comes to us celebrating our Independence.

They will already be busy out and about protecting our city as it is. They sure don't want you clogging up the phone lines with stuff that really is not an emergency. So they are using humor to help the Amarillo and Canyon areas know what is and what is not an actual emergency.

They don't need you to call and let them know who is illegally setting off fireworks. They will be out patrolling. Oh, but if one of your neighbor's illegal fireworks starts a fire, yep that warrants a call to 911.

This whole list is a bit tongue in cheek but I can just imagine all the cranky neighbors calling 911 for something not needed. You know like when their cat is upset and hiding. Maybe.

That can be upsetting but so is when a cat takes out its gun and starts shooting like this post states. That deserves a call and possibly some video footage for social media later on. I mean you don't see that every day.

Remember our First Responders will be pretty busy this 4th of July. Only make an emergency call if it is an actual emergency. Remember to be safe when celebrating this Independence Day.
