Ready For An Update On Construction on Hollywood In Amarillo?

One thing Amarillo seems to be known for is its road construction. Ok, maybe we aren't KNOWN for it, but we all certainly complain about it a lot. Come on, admit it, I'm not alone here.

It also seems like the construction is never going anywhere. It's almost like it gets stuck in neutral for the longest time, or cones pop up around the city for no reason, mainly because we don't see any action.

One of the projects that has been going on for awhile is the one spanning a huge stretch of State Loop 335, also known as Hollywood Rd. Well good news, we've got an update on the progress and it's promising.

This project was a multi-faceted one that has had a lot of different layers to it, especially because of the length they're working on. Here's the update on all parts of SL 335.

I-27 at the S SL 335 interchange has been completed to 100% and is now officially open to all traffic.

The stretch from Coulter to Soncy is still a bit away from being completed, but that's one of the biggest stretches they have. They're anticipating a traffic pattern change in December, with completion of that stretch sometime in Summer of next year (2024).

SL 335 from S FM 2590 to I-40 is another part that has reached 100% completion and is now open to all traffic.

The IH-40 West Interchange to SW 9th Ave is coming along very nicely and is expected to be open in the near future. The target is for it to open to traffic early in 2024, with completion right behind it in the spring.
