I kept seeing all over about DiGiornio Pizza having a limited edition Thanksgiving pizza this year. Ok, that's cool and all I guess. If we can get a pizza locally that is not a frozen pizza I think I would much rather do that.

I went on the hunt for somewhere in Amarillo to get a pizza that had the traditional Thanksgiving dishes all in one place. On one crust. It didn't take me very long to find that right here in Amarillo. I mean not only can we support local. We can support a place that gives back to our community. Oh, and we get all this deliciousness on one pizza that was made just for me.

Big Jim's Pizza on Olsen is that place.

So what is this Thanksgiving Pizza? It is called The Gobbler. What a great name. It has everything you could want in a Thanksgiving meal on a pizza crust. Instead of pizza sauce, it is topped with gravy. Yummy! You will find turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, and a side of cranberry sauce.

A Thanksgiving dream come true. So I had to try it. I have had other pizzas from Big Jim's so I just knew it had to be good.

Review: The Gobbler From Big Jim's

I wasn't quite sure what to think. I know all this food goes together quite nicely on a Thanksgiving plate but how will it turn out as a pizza? I ordered one and then also got a taco pizza just in case.

Worst come to worst I have plenty of leftovers. I am not a picky eater so I would eat it all anyway. So when I got home I will be honest the first slice I grabbed for was from the taco pizza.

After I enjoyed that I knew it was time. I needed to try The Gobbler.

I knew that any Big Jim's pizza I have tried has been good so I don't know why I was apprehensive about this. I love mashed potatoes and gravy, I love mozzarella, corn, and turkey, I just had it in my head that this was pizza.

I took my first bite and the first thing I could taste was the mashed potatoes and gravy. OK, this was not going to be bad at all. I could taste the cheese and the corn. Oh, and the turkey. It was cooked perfectly.

I even dipped my slice in the cranberry sauce to get the full effect. Perfect. Then just like any other Thanksgiving meal I went in for seconds. I decided to keep the taco pizza for tomorrow. Right now it was time for more of The Gobbler.

You can order it HERE.
