A Bitter Sendoff: Why One of Amarillo’s Most Unique ‘Bucket List’ Spots is Closing Its Doors
We didn't even make it out of January before hearing about another business closing in Amarillo. Luckily, this is one of those that we were given plenty of warning before it closes.
That is a lot nicer than when we walk up to our favorite place and just see a "closed permanently" sign hanging from the front door. It's always nice to be able to give a closing business the proper sendoff. We get to show up a final time or two.
A Proper Sendoff for an Amarillo Blvd Original
The business that is closing is Rocket Brews. They are not your typical beer store. They are a walk-in or drive-up location. The best part is their menu. They have build-your-own Micheladas. Oh, and the combinations are endless.

Why Rocket Brews Caught the Attention of 'The Texas Bucket List'
They are so good that they were even featured on the season fourteen episode one of The Bucket List. They stopped in and had to give it a try back in 2020. They enjoyed a Michelada topped with cucumbers, jerky, and shrimp. A snack and drink in one.
Signature Drinks: Micheladas, Jerky, and Candy Daiquiris
Their daiquiris are something else, too. Where else can you get a daiquiri with an energy drink and candy to finish it off in the same cup? Only Rocket Brews. That is why it was surprising to see this journey coming to an end.
A New Chapter: The Business is Now For Sale
They recently announced their closing coming up in February:
We will be closing our doors on February 8th. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. It was a difficult decision, but circumstances led us to this decision. Thanks for all the memories and loyalty all these years.
Our journey may be over, but a new chapter could begin for someone else. We will be offering the store for sale. More details will be available soon at rocketbrews.com
