‘Serial’ Fans Rejoice As Season Two Begins
It's a new season of 'Serial,' and this time, the case hasn't even started.
In 2014, the podcast world was shaken up by the addictive series, 'Serial.' The podcast examined the murder case of Hae Min Lee, a high school student who was murdered in 1999. Her ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed, was convicted for the murder, despite glaring holes in the evidence. 'Serial' dove head-first into that evidence and laid it all out on the table in a thrilling narrative. Although 'Serial' did not discover whether Adnan was guilty or not, it got tons of people interested in the case.
There have been several follow-ups on 'Serial,' including the ongoing series, 'Undisclosed.' Adnan's case has also been reopened for an ineffective assistance of counsel appeal.
Average American citizens became enthralled with 'Serial' and have waited patiently for the second season to start.
The wait is over.
Today, the first episode of season two of 'Serial' went live in podcast world. The subject they are covering this time is a huge surprise.
Sarah Koenig will be exploring the confusing story of Bowe Bergdahl, an American sargeant who randomly left his Army outpost in Afghanistan and went missing. After five years in Taliban captivity, Bergdahl was recovered.
Since his return, people have been wondering what Bergdahl's motive was. Is he a traitor? Did he just get really confused?
Tune in to 'Serial' to find out!
