The One Big Change Coming to the Sod Poodles Concession Stand (And Fans Actually Love It)
We are just weeks away from the home opener at Hodgetown in Amarillo. We are about to get baseball back, which really is the true proof that spring is here. The Sod Poodles will be taking the field once again.
Of course, as with any new season, there are some changes. The one that I think is the biggest for fans when they head out to the park is their new food options. It is a first for Hodgetown, and fans are welcoming the change with open arms.
Stepping Up to the Plate: The New Value Meal Menu
This season, they are introducing the Soddies Value Meal Deals. They are offering several options, and nothing is better than bundling and saving money. There are five options for these deals.
The Family Pack: Feeding the Crew for $40
- Hot Dog, Small Popcorn, and 16 oz. Drink…$9.99
- 4 Hot Dogs, 2 Large Popcorns, and 4 16 oz. Drink…$40
- Nachos and 16 oz. Drink…$11..99
- Hot Dog and 12 oz. Beer…$9.99
- Classic Burger, Kettle Chips, and 16 oz. Drink…$14.99
I will say that the reaction to the addition of the meal deals has been very positive online. In this day and time, in an era where it’s easy to find reasons to complain, the response here has been overwhelmingly positive.

Community Approved: Why Amarillo Fans Are Loving the Change
Most of the reactions were just a simple 'nice', or 'value meals, great idea' to 'not bad.' When Amarillo can collectively be positive about something, I start to not lose all faith in our city. So kudos to the Sod Poodles fans for making this about what it is, a good deal, with good options.
Planning Your Trip: What to Know Before the Home Opener
As you are making your plans to head out to the ballpark this upcoming season, the options have changed a little bit. The food can now be part of a value meal, and we are all about that here in Amarillo.
We are so glad that this change has happened.
