They say all good things must come to an end, but the Soddies weren't quite ready to end their season.

Watching them close out their final series against San Antonio was an absolute blast as they kept holding on to that playoff chance until the end.

They were going to need some help along the way, and they got quite a bit of it. Ultimately, the help decided they no longer wanted to be a part of that and eliminated the Soddies from playoff contention over the weekend.

As they head into the offseason, we say THANK YOU for everything this season. I've been around baseball all my life, whether it be MLB teams or Minor League teams. I've seen just about every level of baseball you can imagine.

I have to say that watching and following the Sod Poodles this season was one of the most enjoyable seasons I've had as a baseball fan.

Every time you step into HODGETOWN, it's magical. I mean, it's their hashtag on social media, #AMAgical. The atmosphere inside that stadium is second to none. Their promotions are some of the best I've ever seen.

Whether it be some very sought-after giveaways, their weekday specials like Thirsty Thursday (my personal favorite), or the theme nights they put on, it's always on point. My kids love going to the games, but some of those theme nights really grab their attention.

The introduction of the Caray brothers in the booth was a lot of fun to be a part of. With their incredible family lineage of broadcasters, I was excited to see what they could do. They were a lot of fun to listen to as they would take little jabs at each other and keep the broadcast fun...and they're just incredibly nice guys.

As far as the product on the field, what a blast to watch. The number of top prospects that rolled through here was so much fun to see. Corbin Carroll, Jordan Lawler, Dominic Fletcher. Those guys are going to be studs in the MLB for years to come, and we got to see them up close and personal. Let's not forget about the monster season Leandro Cedeno had before getting the well-deserved call to Reno.

The future is bright for the Sod Poodles and Amarillo. Can't wait to see what next season brings.
