As fast as Amarillo gets a new place, it can shut down without anyone noticing. Then people will start asking what happened. We then have to do some searching to see if they really are closed.

Where It Was Located & What It Offered

That is exactly what happened to the Amarillo restaurant Spice & Saga. It moved in right across from Hodgetown. It took the place when Joe Taco closed their downtown location.

Here we are with another closed restaurant. That was the speculation. I saw someone asking about it on social media, so I decided to drive by.

Most signage was gone, the restaurant was empty, and its Google listing said ‘Permanently Closed.’ Yep, it looks like another one bites the dust.

Customer Reviews & Menu Highlights

What happened? They had some decent reviews. They also had a buffet, and it seems that is a winning combination for an Indian restaurant. That way, you can try everything and figure out what you really like.

Reasons Behind the Closure

It couldn’t be that those who knew about it visited, but there were a lot who had no idea it existed. That is never good when a new place opens. You need to get the word out that you are here and grow your customers. They didn’t do that.

There was also a recent social media post about a girl catching on fire. It was allegedly the fault of an employee.   You can search for it on social media. The language is a little rough for me to post, but you can find it. I promise.

What’s Next for the Space?

Regardless of why they closed, they are done. The building is empty and waiting for a new occupant. They are now 0-2. Hopefully, the next one has staying power.
