We have some serious Star Wars fans here in Amarillo. Not only are they fans, but they also have the time and skill to put their love for the movie in different parts of Amarillo. It's a game to see where this art pops up next.

Now here is where I get to say that I am not a huge Star Wars fan, and it's really not my fault. It's all because of some trauma I suffered as a kid. See, I had this babysitter who took me to the movies. I know that seems nice at first.

Why Amarillo Is Seeing a Stormtrooper Invasion

She took me to see the first Star Wars, which I guess really ended up being Episode IV, so I know more than I let on. My babysitter was stuck with me while hanging out with her friends. So to keep me behaving, she told me as we were walking in and Chewbacca was on the screen, that if I was not good, Chewbacca would come off the screen and get me.

I was really young and had no idea that Chewbaca was a good guy. So that was the first and last Star Wars movie I saw. I, though, do know enough to recognize a lot of the characters.
