Summer is Close - Amarillo Pools and Splash Pads to Open Soon

Kids are looking forward to getting out of school. They are ready to enjoy the hot summer Texas sun. Really they are looking forward to cooling off. Luckily the City of Amarillo is ready to help.

How can you have summer without the city swimming pools? There are also the many splash pads we have around the city. The weather has been nice and everyone is asking when will the pools and splash pads open in Amarillo.

Ready to Cool Off This Summer?

When can we get out and cool off at our city pools and splash pads? They both are getting close. The pools we will have to wait a little longer to open. Southeast and Southwest Pools will open up Memorial Day weekend. Thompson Park will be open starting on May 30th. They wait until the Amarillo schools are out for summer vacation.

Luckily we can enjoy the splash pads a little earlier. Since they don't have staff out there so they open up a lot earlier. They are planning on having the many splash pads in our area up and going this weekend.

The fun begins Mother's Day weekend. Which is a good time for the families to head to the park anyway. We are keeping an eye on the weather because of course it is supposed to cool down a little this weekend.

According to Amarillo Parks and Recreation:

Splash pads are free to use and are open to the public from 11:00AM to 8:00PM each day of the week. (Weather Permitting)
