SURVEY: Amarillo Residents…What’s Your Water Bill Look Like? Let’s Talk
It seems like every single day and with every single purchase here in Amarillo I really miss the "good ol' days." Yes, that means I am becoming my mom who would reminisce about the prices back then.
You know when you could go to the grocery store and fill your cart up for less than $100. Now it seems like just a very few amount of bags will cost that much. Nowadays, I flinch every time the cashier gives me the total.
Face it, things are just cost a lot more now. Then we go through our seasons. We kind of know what to expect. We still dread it but we know it's going to happen. We know in the wintertime time our electric bill goes up because of all of the Christmas lights we adorn our home with.

We also know our electric bill will go up in the summer because of our never-ending need to cool off in our air conditioning. We get this. We still complain but we understand.
Another thing we have come to expect is our water bill being a bit higher in the summertime. Especially if you are one of those with a pool to fill up, you know that is going to cost you. Another costly water bill could be because you have the greenest lawn on your block.
Yes, watering your grass is going to up your bill as well. We know that and we try to account and maybe even save for that. What you don't account for is your bill being a bit crazier than expected.
There have been people questioning their water bills lately. The suggestion is to turn everything off and keep an eye on your water meter. To keep an eye on the chance of having a leak. A leak could of course be the culprit of the higher than normal bill.
There seem to be many who are complaining that their bills are higher for no reason.
