Take the Texas Mandatory Hunter’s Education Course This Weekend
According to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department's website "Every hunter (including out-of-state hunters) born on or after Sept. 2, 1971, must successfully complete hunter education. Minimum age for certification is 9 years and cost is $15." If you want to get a jump on hunting this year, this weekend you can take the course in Amarillo.
Jeff's Gunslingers will be hosting the course this weekend. According to the Facebook event page, it will be at the Amarillo Gun Club.
The course is 4 hours long, and will last from 1pm - 5pm. You will need hearing and eye protection to take the course.
The state charges $15 to take the course. You will need a pen.
