Temptation Will Soon Be on Every Street Corner in Amarillo

It's a new year and that means resolutions for a lot of people in Amarillo. Did you make ay this year? It seems one of the main ones every year is to be a little healthier. That can mean different things to different people.

You may choose to eat healthy. That can be a start. Maybe you decided to cut out alcohol. Maybe your healthier choice was to eat less processed foods. It could be as simple as introducing more fruits and vegetables into your diet.

If part of your resolution was to eat less sweets then this is not what you want to hear. For everyone else it is a glorious time of year. Our favorite pushers are about to hit the streets of Amarillo. There will be cars advertising the availability of what they have to offer.

You won't be able to go shopping without these little salesgirls hitting you up with their sweetness. I am talking about the Girl Scout Cookie Season. This is where the girls of Amarillo learn about making a sale while helping their troop. They also help the parents with the sales because this is how they help pay for Girl Scout Camp.

My daughter, and I, sold Girl Scout Cookies for years. The camps were always so much fun and my daughter loved going every summer. So know when you are buying all those sweet cookies they are doing more than enabling your sweet tooth. It is a great learning experience.

Girl Scouts will start showing up around town starting on January 10th. That is a week away if you have not gotten back into the swing of things after the holidays. Girl Scout Cookies will be available all over town. You will even see social media posts helping you find a location.

They are here to help after all. HERE are the cookies that will be offered this year. Of course, the standard and ever-so-delicious Caramel deLites and Thin Mints will be back. Those are always a fan favorite.

They will also have two peanut butter varieties: Peanut Butter Patties and sandwiches. There are nine cookie varieties so of course something for everyone. To find a location, and they are already listed so you can make your plans, check them out HERE.

Go out and support the girls and remember if you don't want any cookies make sure you are kind while turning them down. They are learning and with that kindness goes a long way. Really though, who can say no to Girl Scout Cookies?
