Amarillo Thai Restaurant Closes and Combines in Big Move
It's not unusual for restaurants to close in Amarillo. Unfortunately, they seem to come and go. We have had a few that have closed but decided to merge with another restaurant. Those seem easier to take.
Mergers Are Nothing New in Amarillo Dining
We end up losing a place to eat in our favorite location, but they are still here, just maybe a little bit further down the road. That happened when The Lost Cajun moved into the same building as The Pancake Station. Unfortunately, that didn't last.

The Pancake Station is still here, but they said goodbye to The Lost Cajun. In its original location on I-40, The Lost Cajun became home to two other merged restaurants. Saigon and Pho 84 merged to become Saigon 84 and took over The Lost Cajun's first location. I know this is a lot to keep up with.

Taste of Thai’s Big Move
Recently, another location announced that they were closing and merging with another restaurant. Taste of Thai at 34th and Osage made the announcement that their lease was about to be up in their current location in Amarillo.
What This Means for Customers
They are merging with Thai Thai at 2515 S Grand Street. They are both owned by the same family, so this is another one that makes sense. They will be closing up shop at 1900 E 34th on Saturday, September 27th.
If you live or work nearby, you still have some time to enjoy the recipes you have grown to love at that location. They will then be found with Thai Thai as of September 30th. Luckily, it is just a five-minute drive up the road.
The Future of Thai Dining in Amarillo
When it comes to closed restaurants, this one isn’t too hard to take. They will still be here just a little further drive. Hopefully, all of the staff have jobs, and the ones from Taste of Thai will be able to move up the road too.
