Local Business Saves the Day: Solving Amarillo, Texas’ Big Party Crisis!

We found out just before Christmas that Amarillo, and the rest of the country, were losing Party City. That is over seven hundred stores that are going away. One store on I40 and Soncy is closing in Amarillo. The only location we had.

With Party City in its final days, there has been a lot of panic from party planners in our area.

Where are We Going to Fill Helium Balloons Now?

This has been a major question. There have been many posts asking this very question as I have been scrolling through social media. There are very few places that sell helium balloons. There are even fewer places where you can bring a balloon you have to get filled.

If you don't want to go to the store and buy your own helium tank you are looking for options. I mean who really wants to do that if you only have a few balloons to fill? So there has to be someone stepping in to fill that need here in Amarillo.

Luckily, The Local Wedge in Amarillo is Saving the Day

Party City is closing in just a few days. Saturday, February 22nd, is their last day. Even worse news is that their helium tanks are already gone. The Local Wedge in Townsquare, 5461 McKenna Square, has already jumped in to save the day.

Not only have they bought up all of Party City's balloon supply they have already stepped in to fill the need and those balloons for any upcoming event. You can buy your balloons from them, or you can bring your own.

According to owner Marissa Neuburger:

Big box stores are out but we are still partying! Come grab a helium bouquet at our balloon bar this year! We have thousands of balloons, and hundreds of themes (licensed characters included) and would love to create something for you!

 

The Balloon Bar by The Local Wedge is currently taking orders by phone, and should be geared up for online ordering by early to mid March.
