There is not a day that goes by that Madison Knebusch is not remembered by someone here in Amarillo. I know that everytime I hear Journey's "Don't Stop Believin" she creeps into my mind. That happens quite often where I work. Trust me. That is ok because everyone needs to remember that smile.

Madison lost her battle with cancer at just sixteen years old. Since then her parents, Shannon and Levi, have been doing all they can to help other parents in that situation. They know firsthand how devastating that can be. They created the MTK Foundation (Madison Taylor Knebusch) to help other families in their time of need.

Of course, a foundation like this needs money to help others and the MTK Run is one way they make money. The run is coming up this month and they are in the process of getting runners to participate.

Even if you don't want to run there are other ways to participate. There is also a one-mile fun walk or run for those not-so-serious runners. This will all be taking place at Austin Park. So you will get a scenic view of the Wolflin area.

If you are a runner and want to compete they will have both a 5K and 10K run. The run through Wolflin has been said to be one of the most enjoyable with all the trees. They do help keep the runners a bit cooler than most other areas.

You can even sign up as a sleepwalker if you just can't get up that early on a Saturday. There are so many options. The only option you don't want to take is missing this event. Get registered HERE. The deadline to register online is noon on July 26th.

After that you can still register in person on the 26th at Westminster Church (right next to Austin Park) from 5:15 pm - 6:30 pm. If you are more of a last-minute person you can just show up to Austin Park on Saturday Morning from 6:30 am until 7:00 am but be ready to run or walk.

The streets of Amarillo have changed a lot. Georgia Street used to be the place to buy a car. Now it has everything.
