Local Amarillo Business Jumps in to Help Another Recover After Damage
A few weeks ago, Amarillo was hit by a land hurricane. Something that a lot of us haven't ever experienced before. The strong winds and the brown skies filled the air. When the wind finally calmed down we had time to survey the damage.
A lot of trees were uprooted. Many signs and billboards were destroyed. A lot of damage around the city. One of the businesses that got hit hard was the Tascosa Drive-In on the Dumas Highway.
The movie screen and ticket window area were hit the hardest at a time when they were just trying to open up for the season. That was a big hit for our community because it wasn't even a year ago that this drive-in got new ownership.

We were hoping for a full family fun-filled summer. Then the wind came. Luckily they got some of the damages fixed at the Tascosa Drive-In but in order to keep something like this from happening again there are other real fixes to happen at this location.
One Amarillo Business Jumped in to Help the Tascosa Drive-In\
Right after the damage hit The Studio in Amarillo wanted to help. They designated a day to offer great but cheap tattoos and donate all the money raised to help with repairs at the drive-in.
The tattoo day happened over this past weekend. Of course, the day they chose was a day when the snow decided to hit our city. From one weather-related day to help damage from another weather day. It makes sense.
The weather did not keep Amarillo home. The day was a success and were able to raise money to go for repairs at Tascosa Drive-In:
We’re blown away (in the best way this time)! We are beyond grateful to The Studio for going above and beyond for Tascosa Drive-In. They raised $6,276 to help us recover from wind damage — donating every single dollar from their fundraiser to support our little drive-in.
Thank you for the time, the talent, the heart, and the hustle you put into making this happen. We are truly overwhelmed by the kindness of this community — and we won’t forget it. - Tascosa Drive-In
