I'm not sure if you are aware that the financial center of the universe is close by. It really is. I mean you might think it would be somewhere more populated like New York. You wouldn't think it would be a close drive. Oh, but it is. You can find it right here in the Texas Panhandle.

How do I know? I was working at this financial institute when the announcement came out. We ordered the artwork for the billboard. We made sure this city of about six hundred people finally got this steller ATM. The first ATM in Happy.

I have made several trips to Happy. I have seen the billboard and ATM in person. Happy, Texas is where it started. From the Happy State Bank website:

Founded in 1908 as First State Bank, Happy, Texas, the bank operated solely in that community during its first 81 years. In 1990, J. Pat Hickman led a group of investors in forming Happy Bancshares, Inc. as they purchased the bank. The generically named First State Bank changed its name to the unforgettable Happy State Bank in 2004.

If you want to see home-town banking then next time you are near Happy, Texas, it warrants a stop at the Happy State Bank. The original site. I guarantee you will see a lot of smiles. It's hard not to be happy when you are in Happy - The Financial Center of the Universe.
