One thing we have plenty of here in Amarillo is restaurants. It seems that anytime a new business is opening, it's a new restaurant. Now, I'm not complaining about this at all. Having a ton of options for eating is a good thing.

We don't always want the same thing, so having those options are a good thing. I saw something on Reddit and it was a picture of a meal from Whataburger and a Shiner Bock to drink, and they labeled it "The Ultimate Texas Dinner".

Look, I can't argue with this. I mean, those are two complete Texas staples and were a couple of things I was immediately told I needed to indulge in when I moved to the state 10 years ago. Now I don't MIND Shiner Bock, but it's not something I typically order on my own.

Whataburger, however, is something I fell in love with pretty quickly. I can understand why people were telling me to make sure I try it, and shortly after I moved here. All of this got me thinking though.

That may be the Ultimate Texas Dinner, but what if we regionalized it, what would be the Ultimate Amarillo Dinner?

I started to think about what it would be for me. I gotta tell you it was one of the hardest things for me to think about because there are just so many options to choose from. Oh sure, NOW it's a problem that we have so many places to choose from.

Ultimately I personally landed on it would be a burger from Blue Sky with a brew from Pondaseta. Maybe I'm way off base, but to me, that feels very Amarillo. I'd love to hear what YOUR Ultimate Amarillo Dinner would be. I'm sure the combos will be entertaining...and probably make me want to try it out.
