Ordering and having things delivered is such a convenience. I mean it saves you from leaving the house. It frees up some of your time. It is a great world that we live in where we can basically get anything delivered to us.

When the weather is bad we can sit inside and keep warm and someone will bring us our food. Someone will be out and deliver our groceries. It seems for the most part this is a pretty simple process.

You order. Someone goes and picks it up. Then it gets delivered. That is how it goes. Most of the time. Maybe you use DoorDash all of the time. Maybe you have groceries delivered from Walmart on the weekly. Maybe Amazon worries about you when there is no delivery to your house.

Regardless of how often you use a platform for deliveries, there is one thing you should always double-check. You should always verify your address. Hey, maybe your grown kids log in every once in a while and sign up for a delivery. If you don't verify they will end up with your weekly groceries or worse.

There was a recent delivery I made through DoorDash where this became an issue. A guy ordered Little Caesars. I got to the hotel that he asked me to deliver to but there was no room number. I was supposed to hand the food to him he was not out in the parking lot.

I tried to call him and text him. He finally responded that I was at the wrong address. I was where the app told me to go. He did not update his address from the last time he got a delivery. After talking to DoorDash they cancelled my delivery and had a closer Little Caesars remake his order. I had free pizza for the night. It is not always a bad thing for the driver. I also got the money promised to deliver including a tip.

Another order had me pick up two bottles of Bailey's Irish Whiskey. A lady getting ready for the holidays. I don't know if she was using someone else's account and they transposed the numbers in the address but it didn't exist. I got as close as I could. I called and it went straight to voicemail. I sent a text. Then I called Dasher support.

They also couldn't get ahold of the customer so they cancelled the order and I went home with two bottles of Bailey's Irish Whiskey for my daughter's coffee on Christmas morning.

So whatever you do, and no matter what delivery app you use, update your address. At least verify that it is correct. As much as I don't mind keeping your undeliverable food I would like you to get your items and the first step is making sure we have the correct address.
