Sometimes we get some news in Amarillo that we really don't want to hear. We can't help when restaurants that we love end up closing. We just have to find a way to move on.

Don't think that we forget about them, though. We found out back in April that one of our favorite places, Wesley's BBQ, was closing its storefront permanently. They have gone through some changes over the years, but this is the one that hurt.

The Shocking Closure and the Hopes for a Return

They gave us a couple of days to say our goodbyes. They were still keeping their "Oink by Welsey's" food truck going, but being able to go in and have a meal was coming to an end in Amarillo.

Until it wasn't, there was talk on their social media about maybe opening Wesley's again someday.

We know people care about Wesley’s and that people want the restaurant open to the public again… a comment was made that maybe someone else would open it one day…so I’m willing to put it up for sale! We will be offering a special that day only!
Special- Rib Plate ( 2 sides, bread and drink) $10

With the help of Larry Wesley himself we have chosen the new owner! He is one who has worked side by side with Mr. Larry Wesley at Wesley’s Bean Pot years ago! He knows the legacy of the food and what it takes to preserve it! Him and Mr. Larry Wesley’s are in communication and he has the support and direction of the legend himself!
