Amarillo takes notice when an Amarillo restaurant closes. We rally around some of them and in 2024 we got to see a few of them reopen. We were lucky enough to get both Beef O'Brady's and Malcolm's back in business. That is good news in Amarillo.

We really don't want to see any business close. Not only do we lose that restaurant but a lot of our friends and neighbors end up losing their jobs. Nobody wants to see that. So people recently started asking about the Red Lobster here in Amarillo.

Earlier this year a lot of Red Lobsters closed all over the country. So we were worried about ours. We were told that our location was here to stay. But their doors were closed recently so that got us worrying.

Is that the end of our endless shrimp? We were worried. Do we have to say goodbye to Lobster Fest? What about those cheddar biscuits? I mean I know there are places to buy the packages to make them yourself but that is just not the same.

Luckily we don't have to worry about the fate of our Amarillo Red Lobster. Yes, they closed. Not for long. They are reopened. Yes, the health department shut them down but don't worry it's not over for them.

It turns out they had an issue with their hot water heater. No heater, no hot water, no hot water then no washing dishes. It is as simple as that. They have to replace the heater and then get it inspected. We know how long that takes.

So Red Lobster in Amarillo closed but they are not closed for good. In fact after all of the messages I received about their closing they would have been missed. The news is good for all of us cheddar biscuit lovers in our city. You can read the Health Department Report HERE.
