What is Up With the Temporarily Closed Food Places in Amarillo?
Nothing is more inconvenient then being hungry and driving to a place to eat and finding out they are closed. I mean, first it took you a bit to decide where you wanted to eat. That never seems to be an easy choice.
Especially when there is more involved in the decision making. Getting everyone to agree on one place. Yeah, that can be quite the challenge. So you find a place. You agree. You head there to place your order and to get your food.
Just to see that they are "temporarily closed". I saw a couple places like that in Amarillo recently. It was kind of weird. I was driving down Georgia Street when I noticed the first one. The Subway on 34th and Georgia is the first victim.
I noticed there were no cars in the parking lot which is unusual. Then I noticed that the lights were off. Ok, I had to drive up closer to see. The only thing that the sign said was that it was temporarily close.
I don't even know how long they have been closed that was all I saw. So I went to Google Maps. They have updated that location to reflect that they are closed. It still is listed that way today.
So if you have plans to get a sandwich you might want to check first. You may play it safe and pick a different Subway location. Luckily we have another one not to far on Washington and another one on Western.
The next victim is Popeye's on Paramount. I saw someone ask about this location being closed on social media. So I decided to check it out with Google Maps as well. Yep, they have updated their location as well.
I did find this post about the Paramount Popeye's. So this makes sense and may have solved the mystery.
So here is a little piece of advice, I guess. Always have a backup plan when it comes to food. I know. Getting the first answer was tough enough but sometimes that backup will save the day.
