When it Rains it Pours in Amarillo. Restaurants Take a Hit Again

We really thought things were getting better. The rain was getting better. The Paramount/Olsen area was starting to get where the roads were manageable. Restaurants and businesses in the area were looking forward to being able to open. Hummer's got to open up one day. Calico County was looking forward to opening up today. Tyler's may have been able to open soon.

Then the storm came Wednesday night. A lot more rain went into the area. The weather gods decided to kick us when we were down. Why not give us more rain? I mean why not? More rainfall and more of the area around Paramount/Olsen area became closed.

We found that out the hard way. During our move this week we needed to stop by storage to get more stuff to our house. What happened? We drove up on Army trucks, we came up on American Red Cross Vehicles. Oh, and did I mention more road closings? Everything from Market Street to Paramount seems to be closed.

We have no access to a storage unit we need to have empty by the move on Saturday. So this week has been challenging, to say the least. As much as I am complaining about this it is nothing like what the businesses in the area have had to deal with it.

Hummer's, Tyler's, and Calico County have been hit hard this week. The rain just keeps coming and with their plans to try to open, there have been setbacks.

It's been a rough week for sure. Hopefully, there will be time soon for things to dry out. Chick-fil-A on Georgia jumped in so that the city remembers to support the restaurants when they finally get to open again.

As much as a lot of people have been praying for rain I think we need to stop with that already. We need sunshine and we need the water to dry up a little. We need Olsen/Paramount to be open again. We need our restaurants open again soon.
