Mardi Gras has always been one of my favorite holidays. The food, the parties, the dancing...the food, the revelry; it all comes together to make one of the best nights of the year. Which is why I'm so confused.

Where are all of the Mardi Gras events in Amarillo?

Don't Bother Checking Facebook

Looking in the events section of Facebook, one would think that there would be options-a-plenty to choose from. You'd be mistaken. Outside of a couple of events and some happy hour specials, there wasn't much to find.

It's a little shocking. In a city this size, I figured there would be several events happening.

Searching on Google didn't help much either.

Check With Your Favorite Restaurants For Mardi Gras Specials

I would be willing to wager that most, if not all, of the Cajun restaurants in town have something up their sleeve. Lord knows we've got a lot of options when it comes to getting Cajun cuisine.

Drunken Oyster is having an all day event with live music, beads, boils, contests, and dancing. The live music will be provided care of Velvet Funk.

At Least You Can Get Your King Cake

Belmar Bakery has been advertising their King Cakes again this year. Their advertisement is the only one I've seen so far when it comes to getting King Cake in Amarillo.

If you have a favorite bakery, I'm sure they can make one for you if you ask nicely enough.

Am I Missing Something When It Comes To Mardi Gras In Yellow City?

Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places. Do you know of anything big happening in town for Mardi Gras this year?
