With all the different road construction going on in Amarillo, it makes you believe that everything in the city will be much nicer and smoother.

However, there are still plenty of roads in the city that are in desperate need of fixing and repaving. The highway just seems to have the priority right now.

As I was just trolling around on Reddit, I saw someone post a question that got me thinking.

What is the worst stretch of road in town?

I'll tell you what, there are multiple answers to that I feel like. There are many roads that are a complete mess and have long stretches of potholes and more.

My immediate thought was Grand St as you turn on to it off the Loop 335. From the jump, it's like being on a roller coaster. I like to call it the "shock buster" as the shocks on your car get a serious workout.

I wasn't the only one who had that thought as one of the first comments on the post mentioned it.

Here's a couple more that got mentions, and again, they are ones I agree with.

As you can see in the pic, it's a definite mess there. All those different spots where you can tell they just decided to fill some cracks.

I'm sure it started with, we'll fill these couple and be ok. Then they kept doing it over and over where now it looks like there is more filler than asphalt.

Here's another pretty bad spot in the city. Even the filled in cracks look like they're cracking at this point.

A road like this makes for a really rough drive, and if you hit certain spots the wrong way at the wrong speed, it can shift your wheels and send you in a different direction.

Here's an interesting one. On one side, you've got a freshly paved Plains Blvd. It looks nice and fresh and very smooth to drive on.

You cross Western St. and it's a totally different story. Cracks, uneven pavement, rough asphalt. You'd like to think they're going to repave the whole thing, but I'm not so sure.

Got some other roads and areas that need some serious help? I'd love to hear from you. Hit me up using the chat feature on the 96.9 KISS FM app and let's talk more on-air about it.
