There's always a palpable amount of excitement when the NCAA Division I basketball brackets are announced. I'm one of those people who will watch not only the selection show as they unveil the brackets, but I'll also start watching all the analysis afterward for hours.

After all that, they announce the NIT brackets and I'll watch that selection show as well. However, there's one thing that a lot of us sports fans forget, and truthfully it's criminal.

We forget that there are other divisions within the NCAA umbrella, and one of those is in our very own backyard. I'm talking about the NCAA Division II basketball tournament, and there's a team you may have heard of in it.

Your very own West Texas A&M Buffaloes are already into the Sweet Sixteen of the bracket, beating Texas A&M-Kingsville by 22 in the first round, and dispatching Angelo St. by 10 in the second round.

That means they're only two wins away from reaching the Final Four, and three wins away from playing for a national championship. Pretty exciting to have that happening. Now, here's where it's a bit different from the NCAA Division I tournament.

Most of these games are played at the home arena of the better seed and seeing as how your Buffaloes are a #1 seed, it means these games are RIGHT HERE in Canyon until they reach the Elite Eight.

Tomorrow is an important game for WT, as if they win, they head to Evansville, IN. to make their run at a national championship. Well, that Sweet 16 matchup against Black Hills St. will be held in Canyon at the First United Bank Center, and we need to pack the place.

Tickets are SUPER affordable, so you can bring the whole family. Reserved tickets are only $10 a piece, and for general admission, you can get in for $5 for adults, and $4 for kids aged 3-17. Wanna go? You can get your tickets here.
