Amarillo Buildings Updated for Upcoming Hoodoo Mural Festival

So recently we noticed some buildings in downtown Amarillo were missing their murals. The bright colors we were used to seeing while travelling in the area were gone. Yep, it was a bit concerning.

Turns out it shouldn't be. It was in fact to make room for new murals to don our city. Now I will still say I was saddened to see the mural for local homeless man, Scratch-off, gone. I get it. We need new art.

We got it. The best part? We are getting ready to celebrate this new art. The Hoodoo Mural Festival is coming up and they want you to come and see all the changes in person. You really need to.

I did. I wanted to see what the designs were going to be. I wanted to see what the changes in downtown Amarillo were going to be. I did get a message from the folks at Hoodoo Mural telling me I need to stop by and check it out.

Oh, I already had that on my to-do list. So I got that done. I stopped and talked with a couple of the artists too. I apologized for disrupting their work. I just wanted to get a few photos. They told me not to worry they have had a lot of photos snapped recently.
