Amarillo has had a crazy few weeks. We have been watching as businesses learn to deal with the flooding. Many places in Amarillo became lakefront property. Which is something we really are not used to.

The rain caused a lot of businesses on Paramount to close down. Those closings were just temporary. Every day more and more of those places are starting to dry out some and reopen.

This brings us back to Memorial Day weekend. That seems like a lifetime ago for some of us but just like yesterday for two area businesses. That was back before the rain took over all the stories. Before flooding and funnel clouds.

That was the weekend that Circle N had a fire and was a total loss. That was the fire that the folks at 575 first noticed and called in First Responders. They then evacuated the place and watched as the fire was trying to be contained.

What I didn't realize was the aftermath. I knew that Circe N would have to be closed. They were going to need a lot of work. The good news is that they have been able to move into a new temporary location. But they are back and not far from where the fire happened. Good for them.

What I didn't realize is that since the fire 575 Pizzeria has not been able to reopen. The damage from the fire was too much.

Luckily they do have a second location on Hillside for those that can't live without their food. Oh, and I get it. You just may have to travel a little farther. What I hate is the employees at this location are without the job they had. What are they doing?

They are trying to make the best out of it. Luckily they have a food truck that they can take advantage of. This way they can get some of their employees to work. So you can still have your pizza and eat it too.

Go out and support these two local Amarillo businesses when possible. Hopefully, they can get back into their normal locations soon.
