Well here we are, the 4th of July is right around the corner in Amarillo, and there are so many different events that are planned out to celebrate our independence. Because it falls in the middle of the week this year, we're getting different things to do for essentially a full week.

Naturally everyone will be doing their parties and BBQ's on Thursday, and the sound of fireworks will run rampant throughout the city starting most likely tonight, and lasting through next weekend.

The Sod Poodles will have their 4th of July celebration on Wednesday, July 3rd as they're slated for this weird split series against the Rockhounds where the first three games are here, and the last three games are in Midland.

But before all that takes place, Ruckus will be making a special appearance at the Center City of Amarillo Patriotic Pet Parade this Saturday, June 29th at the Bivins Museum grounds, 1000 S. Polk.

This is the fourth year in a row they've held this absolutely cute and adorable parade, and Ruckus is set to kick off the parade. It's always one of the most lighthearted events wrapped around the 4th of July here in Amarillo. All these cute little dogs dressed up to celebrate our independence, you can't help but smile.

There will be awards to be handed out for Most Patriotic, Best Smile, Waggiest Tail, along with some other categories as well. Registration for the parade will start at 9 am on Saturday, and there is a $5 entry fee.
