When Do The Kids Go Back To School In Amarillo?
The kids have been out of school on summer break for well over a month now in Amarillo, Canyon, and all the other lovely places in the Texas Panhandle. You love having that time with your kids, right? Always hanging around you, constantly wanting to go and spend time with you.
Then you realize all they're doing is manipulating you to go to Cinergy or somewhere you wouldn't normally take them. You ultimately pile everyone in the car against your better judgment because you just have to get out of the house.
You're back at home, the kids are running around crazy, screaming at their TV as they play video games and things aren't going their way. They're hungry...over and over again. You can't keep food in the house. Snacks are disappearing at record pace and you've finally told them if they want something to drink, it has to be water because you're done buying them soda.
It's ok to admit, you love your kids but you can't wait for them to go back to school. Now, you just have to figure out when that day is so you can drop them off and reclaim some of your sanity.
Good news! We've got those dates for you, so you can mark it on your calendar and circle it in a big red marker to let them know it's almost time. They'll be sad summer has come to an end, and you're going to spend an entire day in silence just to get your bearings back.
In the immediate Amarillo area, most kids are headed back to school in exactly a month. Amarillo ISD gets your minions back on August 15, while Canyon ISD, Bushland ISD, and River Road ISD welcome them in on August 14. Apologies to the parents with kids in the Highland Park ISD, you have to wait a week longer as they don't start classes until August 21.
Across the Texas Panhandle, it's much of the same with most schools picking back up on August 14 or 15. There are a few exceptions though.
Texline ISD only has a few weeks of summer left as they head back August 5, while Channing ISD and Lazbuddie ISD will kick back up on August 7.
