Amarillo's Buc-ee's Gears Up for Highly Anticipated December Open

It's been a minute since we had an update on Amarillo's Buc-ee's. There has been so much going on since the moment we found out about them coming to our city. We had a groundbreaking.

We have been watching as that corner of I40 and Airport Boulevard went from an empty lot to the greatness that is to come in Buc-ee's. We watched the signs go up. Of course, the traffic lights had to go from four-way blinking lights to the traditional red, yellow, and green traffic lights. We have seen it all happen.

Originally we were given February of 2025 as the opening. With as fast as the building went up and the workers were hired we have known for a while this was going to happen much sooner. The idea that we would have Buc-ee's in Amarillo before Christmas was becoming a reality and we were not angry about this at all.

The finishing touches are pretty much all we are waiting on and the staff to be trained. That December 16th opening date that has been floating around is becoming more and more a reality. That is the date they are opening and 6 am in the opening time.

Then the word got out that the staff started reporting to work this past Thursday. The training is officially underway. They are busy learning how to make great BBQ sandwiches. They are learning the ins and outs of having the cleanest bathrooms around.

The staff is learning about the Buc-ee's way and we can't wait. I, for one, who have never been through the doors of any Buc-ee's can't wait until I can make this a reality at our own Amarillo location.

Not only are the staff being trained, but the finishing touches are also being added outside the store. Seeing this addition of Buc-ee's is making it all too real.
