Amarillo Buc-ee’s Update Includes Signs and Maybe Opening Sooner?

Nothing has been a bigger topic of conversation than Buc-ee's here in Amarillo. Since the moment we found out about them coming to our city we have looked for any update we can find. Once they broke ground we have been watching the progress.

Luckily there is a group on Facebook that helps keep us posted. Any movement on that property and photos are being snapped. Then I get several photos sent to me from friends who work out in the area.

It is getting closer. I have always said that with how fast they are moving they have got to be opening sooner than the projected February 2025 date. They just have to be. My prediction and the talk that I have seen for a while is that they will open before Christmas.

I still think that is true. People in the area even have insiders giving us information in this Amarillo Buc-ee group that I am a part of.

This past weekend has been very busy in the Buc-ee's world. We finally have signage up. We are finally official. The building says Buc-ee's. Our city is proudly displayed on the sign outside the building. This is really starting to get real.

If they hold true to the rumors of opening up in December you realize that in just three months everything is going to change for our city. The traffic is going to be crazy at Airport Boulevard. I am still hoping to see the traffic lights getting put up there. They are going to need those in the worst way.

Just imagine all of the people this new location is going to bring into our city. This really is exciting. Oh, and the jobs. They are hiring now and they pay well.
