Amarillo’s Mobile Harvest Finding a Way to Roll-On Soon

Just a couple of weeks ago we learned that the truck that has been used for Mobile Harvest from the High Plains Food Bank was involved in an accident. If you don't know much about the Mobile Harvest they keep us in fresh fruits and veggies. If I didn't mention they are also free.

Such a great thing for Amarillo. All families need fresh fruits and vegetables in their diet and that is where the High Plains Food Bank stepped in. That was until their accident.

Since the accident, all we could do was wait and see when the Mobile Harvest would be back to running.

Did You Know The High Plains Food Bank Has a Garden?

Now if you don't know about The High Plains Food Bank's garden it's really pretty cool. They have a garden every year that is used to educate our community. They teach how to garden and the importance of a good nutritional garden. People come out and volunteer to help out in the garden and then it is time to harvest.

At harvest time that is when the Mobile Harvest comes into play. They take all that locally grown produce and head out to different parts of the community. They then pass out all of that great produce. Since the accident, though, they have not been able to have a Mobile Harvest.

It looks like the Mobile Harvest will be back soon. The original truck is totaled though. The driver was also hurt. They are going to find a way to make due until their new truck is ready. Yes, they are getting a new truck.
