Batteries Plus Comeback Underway in Amarillo—Construction Sign Appears
It was just a couple of months ago when a semi truck left I-40 and destroyed the building that was Batteries Plus in Amarillo. The building just came crumbling down. Since then, they have had to count on their second location as this one was totaled.
I did notice some great hope recently when I drove by. They are at least getting close to starting the process of rebuilding. That can be a process once you have to get insurance involved.
This was definitely an insurance claim. A semi was coming to a stop at your doorstop, correction, into the actual building. Luckily, it all happened when they were closed, or this could have been much worse.
Amongst the rubble and the fencing that has gone around the building, there is a hopeful sign. The fencing was necessary to keep people out. The insides could be accessed when the building came down.
The Newest Word on the Batteries Plus Location on Paramount Street in Amarillo
Around the corner from the building facing the I-40 access road, there is a sign near Paramount Street. I almost missed it. This sign was showing us that the rebuild is hopefully getting closer to starting.

The sign lets us know that BCL will be handling the project. I had to remember they do more than just roofing since their great marketing slogan gets me remembering "BCL won't leave a nail". They have helped me with my roofing needs and can also take care of a big project like this.
So the sign is up, and hopefully Batteries Plus is closer to reopening at their I-40 and Paramount location before too long.
