There's nothing better than a sweet little boutique to satisfy your itch for something truly special and unique. It's a little like scouring a department store for a niche brand that you don't see others wear often.

That's the power of boutiques. And that's certainly the secret superpower of Schlegel's, a charming shop that quietly sits next to The Drunken Oyster on 45th & Coulter.

Schlegel's houses a powerhouse of inventory that you'll be hard pressed to find anywhere else in town. It's a selection that you'd typically see in the upscale stores in the mall at Dallas' Galleria or North Park.

In talking to Cory Schlegel, one of the owners of this hidden gem of a shopping experience:

We have around two million dollars in inventory, equally split between men's and women's. We based all our stores on Nordstroms and Saks.

They also host weekly events that benefit local non-profits, with their most recent going to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

One thing that stands out at Schlegel's is their full scale selection of clothing options for both men and women. The set up of the store is reminiscent of one in a more metropolitan city.

Can I just say that I love the green and gold color scheme they've gone with? The light fixtures are just lovely.

They've got a blue couch that tempts me to ask them to make an offer......but I digress.

While the store is closed on Sundays, you can still catch them at the local powerhouse, From 6th Collective and browse a mini version of their store. But in respect of the Lord's day, they've put away the fine spirits that they make available at their main store.

One little tidbit that was given to me by Cory at the end of my visit to the store is that their website has recently launched. I checked it out, it's nice. Take a peek at it here.

So next time you're out and about and find yourself close to this little shopping center, I would take a moment to pop in to Schlegel's and see what they have to offer.

It is quite the experience.
