Before I took some time off recently to head to Dallas I was struggling to get Platinum Status on DoorDash. It was important to me because with that status you can dash whenever you want. You don't have to schedule your time out.

If I didn't qualify then I was in trouble when I got back. See I can't schedule myself for a shift in Amarillo when I am in Dallas. Oh, and you have to schedule six days out. So such a pain. Such a headache. So my goal was to get Platinum Status with this new rewards program before I left.

The hard part about this was that you had to have an eighty percent acceptance rate. Which is the only qualification I had a hard time hitting. Eighty seems like a pretty hefty goal. The old rewards system was wanting just seventy percent. That seemed much more doable.

I don't like change especially when that change seems unfair. To get the best deliveries, to qualify to deliver big orders, and to dash when you want you need the Platinum Status.

I have always thought that DoorDash was being unfair to Amarillo Dashers. I belong to several social media groups that give hints and tips to dashers. These groups talked about the acceptance rate. I saw a lot of them mentioning that they still only needed seventy percent. What?  Why do we in Amarillo need eighty?

I think it is because we are oversaturated with drivers. I really think that DoorDash is trying to weed out the bad drivers. Maybe they are trying to frustrate them into not delivering anymore.

So I tested out the theory. Here are Amarillo's qualifications with the eighty percent acceptance rate.

When I was in the Dallas area recently I did decide to log in to DoorDash and see what their qualifications were.

Just what I thought. In my daughter's area, I only need a seventy percent acceptance rate. I hate being right. I hate that it is not fair across the board. I know life is not fair.  So I did get my acceptance rate up to eighty percent. Fair or not maybe now I can start making good money again.
