As dry conditions persist across the Texas panhandle, Randall County has once again been placed under a burn ban. The Commissioners Court voted to place a 90 day ban of outdoor burning in effect. That means anyone in Randall County caught burning leaves, trash, or other materials could be subject to a fine up to $500. That includes campfires and uncovered grills. Unless we see some rain soon, the court is likely to keep the ban in place, however than can vote at anytime to extend it or end it early.

Randall joins 10 other counties in the Texas panhandle that are also currently under burn bans. Even with some of the rain and snow showers the area has seen, it is still not enough to keep the ground saturated and the brush from drying out. Luckily there have been no major wildfires lately even with favorable conditions.
