The only guarantee in life is basically death and taxes. Oh, and once you get to where you really know and love a store they will come along and throw you for a loop. I mean really.

I saw a friend of mine post about how much Hobby Lobby has changed up their store here in Amarillo. They also voiced how they really didn't like it much. I had to go and check it out. It had been a couple of months since I walked through those doors.

To be fair I am not a crafty person so I am not a regular in the store. Oh, but when I went in to check it out you can bet I noticed. I was used to walking in and being bombarded with whatever the in-season was to buy. I mean it's July so of course it's time to get fall decorations. They were not upfront like usual. Where do I find my stuff?

There is Christmas stuff but it is way in the back of the store. It's near the fabric. Who looks there for seasonal stuff? Why the search anyway?

Someone suggested that by keeping us guessing we are in the store longer. We are wasting more time and adding to our impulse buying. Smart move I guess. I talked with a Hobby Lobby employee and she told me that they get mixed reviews. I bet.

Some people really like the changes. Some, well don't. I bet more don't like it. I promise. We hate change. We hate having to get used to hunting for what we need. Why do it?

There were no Christmas decorations up front anymore. Nothing was where I expected it to be. What is a loyal patron of Hobby Lobby to do? Am I expected to walk aimlessly trying to find my way?

The seasonal stuff was all far back in the store. You had to hunt for it. It may become easier as you learn the new layout but why?

This reminds me of years back when Market Street on Georgia also decided to change things up. I get it. It's a corporate decision. We couldn't find bread. That was the big complaint. The bread was in a weird place. I still have to search looking for the right aisle when I need bread.

It's been many years. I still don't know where the bread is. The weird thing is that I don't remember where the bread used to be. So I know we will adapt. We won't like it. It might not make sense. Why mess with a good thing?
