One thing we love here in Amarillo are our golf tournaments. I swear, on almost any given weekend in the spring and summer you can find a golf scramble of some sort going on at one of the many courses here in the city.

Most of these tournaments are known to the public and anyone can participate in them, for a fee of course. Typically these are four person scramble events where not everyone has to be some kind of scratch golfer.

Some of these events are simply to hold a tournament, but many of them are held for a particular reason. I've seen youth baseball teams hold a golf tournament to help raise funds for their upcoming season, and I've seen them held for charities many times.

There is one getting set to happen in Amarillo though that is all about benefitting the youth of Amarillo, and we've talked about it before. 107 Golf Academy is all about exposing kids to sports they wouldn't be able to afford otherwise.

The tournament will take place on Tuesday, July 16th with tee-off happening at 7 pm. It will be a 2 person scramble event and run you just $75 per team. All proceeds will go right back into the 107 Golf Academy to continue to provide opportunities for these kids.

There are various other ways to be a part of it as well. You can sign up as an individual and be placed with someone to create a team for just $34.50, your team can sponsor a hole while playing in the event for $107, or you can sponsor a hole without playing for $50.

It's a little weekday golf for a good cause, so you simply can't go wrong. Get yourself or your team signed up by clicking here!
