New Year's Eve parties in Texas live up to the idea that everything is bigger in the state. We know how to have fun and a lot of it. That means, usually, that at one point in the night, you'll need to make a quick run for supplies. There is some good news for those who procrastinate or under prepare.

Yes, Walmarts In Texas Will Be Open For New Year's Eve And New Year's Day

This is great news unless you're needing something stronger than wine and beer. Run out of pretzels? Walmart will be open. Decide you need a tennis racket and a sleeping bag for some reason? Walmart will be there.

According to reports, Walmart is going to be open for their regular business hours on both Dec 31 and Jan 1.

Still, You May Want To Get Your Shopping Done Early

We've already discussed the fact that liquor stores in Texas are going to be closed on Sunday and Monday. You'll need to get your shopping done at those places by Saturday. Even though Walmart and other stores will be open on New Year's Eve, I don't know that I would want to make the trip.

If you're one who is known for complaining about traffic no matter what day of the year it is, you're probably going to lose your mind on New Year's Eve. The roads are going to be filled with revelers heading toward whatever party they've decided to grace with their presence. Also, places like Walmart are usually pretty busy on a normal day. I'd expect to wait in line for a while if you wait.

No matter how you celebrate or when you shop, have a happy New Year. Drive safe, and celebrate responsibly.
