When it comes to stolen vehicles, this one is insane. You often hear about cars, trucks, or vans being stolen, but hardly ever do you hear about a whole skid steer going missing. Yet, that is exactly what has happened in Amarillo. A skid steer and a trailer have gone missing, and your help is needed to find them.

Amarillo Crime Stoppers Need Your Help Finding Stolen Skid Steer

A skid steer is a rather big piece of equipment used for all kinds of things. They usually have a bucket on the front. It isn't the kind of thing you would expect someone to make off with. On January 22, however, that's exactly what was reported. According to a social media post by Amarillo Crime Stoppers, a skid steer had been stolen along with a utility trailer, or vice versa.

The skid steer is a 2019 Vermeer C100. It is yellow and was on a black and yellow 2021 Xon two-axel landscape utility trailer. The trailer has a Texas tag on it. The trailer and skid steer were stolen from the 8900 block of I-40W.

Are Work Sites Being Targeted In Amarillo?

This isn't the first time in recent history that we've heard about equipment being stolen. There have been reports of more than one worksite being hit. Tools and equipment all have found their way to disappearing.

Lock up your tools and equipment. Do what you can to keep everything safe. Take extra precautions. What's sad is that instances like this can delay work, put crews out of work, and wind up affecting more people than just those who owned the equipment.

If you have any idea where this skid steer is, or if you know the whereabouts of the trailer, you're encouraged to contact Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 806-374-4400. You also use the P3 app to make an anonymous tip or make one at amapolice.org.

If your tip leads to the recovery and/or the arrest of a suspect, it could get you a reward of up to $1,000. If you know something, say something.
