One thing we've got in Amarillo is a plethora of restaurants. We see them open up more often than they close, and we have so many different options to choose from. They run the corridor on I-40, especially over by Soncy.

However, with all the different food options we have in the city, there seems to be one place that doesn't get the same kind of traffic that you'd hope it would. Crazy thing is, it's probably the best atmosphere you're going to find while dining.

I'm talking about all the different restaurants in downtown Amarillo. We have a tendency to forget about all the incredible options in Center City, mainly because so many people work down there. They're just looking to get away from it once they finish their day in the office.

Well it's time to make sure we invade Center City when it comes to dining, and that's why Center City Amarillo is embarking on a week-long event that is aimed at promoting all the great restaurants downtown that you may not even realize are there.

What you may not realize is there are 30 different restaurants and bars that you can eat at, drink, and just have a good time in Center City. The best part about it all? Everything is right there together in one square mile.

A myriad of different options all right there for you to choose from. Beth Duke, executive director of Center City Amarillo summed it up beautifully when she told NewsChannel 10, “We have everything downtown from great authentic Mexican food, steak at Toscana Steak House, craft beer at Six Car, Americana at Crush. There’s something for everyone.”

The week-long event will take place from April 29-May 4 and it'll feature 13 different restaurants there. Those restaurants will be offering different specials and promotions all week long, and they'll also be donating a portion of their proceeds to Center City to help support it.

So get on downtown Amarillo and experience all the great places there! You never know, you may just find your new favorite.
