There are a lot of things that we just pitch in the trash here in Texas. Many of those things we think are completely harmless and not something we think would be an issue. Other items, we actually know are illegal to pitch in the dumpster, but we sneak them in there anyway.

Now, the likelihood of getting in a whole bunch of trouble for it can be relatively slim, simply because trash collectors don't sift through your trash before they dump it. Furthermore, in those Texas cities with dumpsters in the alley, there's really no way to tell who put what in there.

That doesn't mean you should go dumping that stuff, though. There are reasons they say those things shouldn't be going in the trash. Some of it isn't landfill-appropriate. Some of it can cause environmental issues.

There are definitely a few obvious ones inside this list, things we've been told you can't drop in the trash. There are a couple, though, that will absolutely shock you, and more than likely items you've been tossing in the trash for years without even thinking about it.

I know I'm guilty of dropping a couple of these things in the bin and not thinking twice. I've also seen people drop many of these things into trash bins, probably not even realizing they aren't items that can go in there.

So here are 11 different things you can't drop into the trash. Whether or not you remember them is a totally different deal.
