Kids and Lemonade Will Be Taking Over Amarillo on Saturday

As the weather is getting warmer nothing is more refreshing than a cold glass of lemonade. You will be able to find plenty of it around Amarillo coming up on Saturday. The lemonade stands will be everywhere.

It's Lemonade Day on Saturday. Kids in Amarillo have been learning how to run a successful business. They are learning what they need to do to make it work. All the hard work that goes into it.

They are learning how to be entrepreneurs. They have been working to get the perfect recipe for their lemonade. Do they want different flavors? Are they going to sell baked goods to go with it? The options are endless.

They learn how a business works. They come up with a plan, and get a loan from mom and dad, if needed. A lemonade stand is needed. Some go all out. Some keep it pretty basic. They know in the end the product has to be good.

They will find out on Saturday how successful they will be. Each student is hoping to make money for their specific goal. They are learning how to manage their money too. They have a loan to pay back. They have had to buy the supplies. They are learning the importance of saving money. Most also pick a place to donate part of their money.

What is left? Oh, it's theirs to spend however they like. Maybe they have been saving for a new bike. It could be a new video game they have been eyeing. The smiles on their faces when they realized they met their goal is really what it is all about.
