Nothing brings you back to your childhood faster than seeing a Slug Bug on the road. You know when you are able to punch your brother or sister and get away with it by screaming "Slug Bug." Oh, how much fun that was growing up.

We would hunt the streets of Amarillo for them just so we can enjoy that slug to our sibling. I can tell you a place that you can go to this weekend and see all the Slug Bugs or Volkswagon Beetles you will want to see. Oh, and they are so cool to see.

Street Volkswagon will be hosting its 9th Annual Volkswagon Slug Bug Car Show coming up this Saturday. We have gone for the past several years and it's always a fun time.

Imagine a car lot full of Volkswagon Beetles, and Volkswagon vans too. They are so cool to look at. So many different colors and styles. You will see them all there. It's quite the sight.

I know every year that is one of our longest training walks so we usually walk several miles from our starting point of Market Stree to Street Volkswagon. We grab lunch that they have during the festival and finish the massive miles of our walk.

If you have not ever stopped by to see what is going on I would suggest you check it out this weekend. It will start at 10 am on Saturday.

If you have kids make sure they wear extra padding. Just know they are going to take advantage of Slugtoberfest. It's the fun of so many Slug Bugs in one location.

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
