Amarillo Opening 2024

One of the questions we answered a while ago in Amarillo is about the old China Star location. Once China Star closed and took away its buffet everyone wanted to know what would be next. It had to be one of the most asked questions.

If you drive around Amarillo you will notice the different buildings and land for sale. There are always questions about what could possibly move into that location. You dream about it being something that you would love to frequent.

It was earlier this summer when we learned the awful fate of Malcolm's here in Amarillo. After thirty-eight years they were closing. It hit a lot of us hard. We took the last few days that we could and visited.

There used to be a time in Amarillo when you could stop into a Pak-A-Sak and pick up a Biti Pie. You walk around after grabbing a cup and filling it up with your drink choice and decide you need a snack. You are looking for something sweet.

It started as a dream here in Amarillo. I remember just hoping, wishing, and writing that I wished that we had HomeGoods in our great city. Then it became a rumor. You know how things happen in Amarillo. Then those rumors were looking more and more likely even if we could never get the corporate office to say yes, one was coming.

Are you looking for a new place in Amarillo to get Baklava? Are you needing an escape? New treats? New great things for your taste buds? Luckily things are always changing in Amarillo. They are always changing.

Since the day we learned about Amarillo's Butterlove Biscuit closing there has been a hole in our stomach. I guess that about says it all. Our go-to is now gone. Oh, but in its place is a new concept for Amarillo.

The recent talk was about Aloha Kitchen having to move out of its current location near Amarillo. They were housed inside the From 6th Collective out in Bushland. Aloha Kitchen did very well in that location.

It was about a year ago when downtown Amarillo lost a Joe Taco location. It was right across the street from Hodgetown and their departure left an empty building. They moved out right as the season was ending for the Sod Poodles.

Amarillo loves pizza. We love all kinds of pizza. Some people just like a basic cheese pizza. Some are a lot more adventurous and you can throw whatever you want on a crust and we will eat it up. We are hit or miss when it comes to pineapple though. We will still debate that one.

Everyone has been excited once word got around that we were getting a HomeGoods in Amarillo. I had been lobbying for a location in Amarillo long before we got a hint that it might be coming to our area.

Nothing is better than getting something new in Amarillo. Our city loves to flock to the new location to check it out. One of our newest places is Market Street on Coulter and Hollywood.
