Alert: Is Amarillo’s Newest Golden Location About to Finally Open Up?
I find myself driving around Amarillo a lot. Even before I started my career as a Door Dasher I still liked to drive around to see what was going on in my city. I still do that but now I make money and can use my mileage as a tax deduction. A win in my book.
So one thing I have noticed is the Golden Chick on Georgia has been being built for a while now. We noticed earlier last year that the build was on a bit of a delay. We knew it was still coming though.
The location on Georgia was announced way back in 2020 so you could see why we have been patiently waiting. Or maybe just waiting.
We got our first taste of this golden chicken back in 2021 when we got our first location. As with other places in Amarillo when there is success they decide to expand in our great city. So they decided a new location needed to happen near Thirty-fourth and Georgia. Yes, we already have a Raising Canes and a Chick-fil-A nearby. We are still excited about Golden Chick moving into the area.
When is Golden Chick on Georgia Going to Open?
That is the million-dollar question. So I decided to get on Google Maps and see what it had to say. The answer was there. Or at least I am hoping this is the answer. Why? Well, because it is soon. Really soon.
If Google Maps is correct they are going to be opening up on January 3rd. Can that be right? I mean looking at the calendar that is today. I know nothing gets past me.
I hope Google Maps is right. I will be driving by to see if this in fact is true. When I drove by recently they had cones blocking the entrances but that is an easy fix. I hope they really are open. I reached out to the folks at Golden Chick but haven't received a confirmation. I am excited to get a closer location. Heck, if they are open I may even have to stop and try it. Here is to the year 2024 already starting off with some good news for Amarillo.
