I am not sure what is up this month. Is everybody moving? Maybe I am just noticing it more because I am in the midst of the hell that is moving my daughter and granddaughter back to Dallas.

This is the time that I have been dreading since the moment they moved here to Amarillo over a year ago. I knew it would happen. I was in denial of how quickly it would go. I shouldn't have been surprised when the time arrived. Oh, but I was.

We had a ton of her stuff in storage. That stuff was boxed up already but the stuff that accumulated in the year for a growing baby needed boxes. So we were on the hunt. Usually, I just ordered from Amazon or bought from U-Haul when I was renting a truck.

I thought this time I would find another supplier. Scrolling through social media I noticed I am not alone. The number of posts of people looking for boxes right now. I see a lot of people asking where they can get cheap boxes or even free boxes.

I found mine for cheap on Facebook Marketplace. I just happened to see a post from another family that just moved into The Vineyards. They had a lot of Home Depot boxes that they sold me for thirty dollars. I was thrilled with that. Much cheaper than previous moves.

Some Places in Amarillo to Get Moving Boxes (Cheap or Free)

Friends - Keep an eye on social media for friends that are moving. You can hit them up and ask them to take their boxes off their hands. They would probably love to get those out of their garage.

Facebook Marketplace - I did a quick search and there are a lot of people wanting to get rid of their boxes and usually, they just want them gone. So that means they are pretty cheap or even free.

Local Stores - This requires picking up the phone and asking a manager. I have seen people say that United is really good at providing boxes when needed. You can also check with Dollar General and Dollar Tree. You can always check with Walmart too.

Social Media Ask - Don't be afraid to post the question on your own social media page or groups. There are so many helpful people here in the Texas Panhandle that will either offer you their boxes or give you ideas of where to go.

Moving is really such a pain and I am not looking forward to the drive out of town. At least getting boxes this time was a lot easier and a lot cheaper. If you have a move in your future, trust me I feel your pain.
